About me
Hello there!
My name is Amy, and I am a Korean-American Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) based in Los Angeles.

Born in Seoul and raised in Chicago, with experiences living in London, Sydney, and now New York, I bring a multicultural perspective to my work. Growing up between Eastern and Western worldviews has allowed me to naturally bridge competing perspectives and cultural values. I draw on these experiences to help clients navigate conflicting identities -- especially when inner beliefs clash with social 'rules' for neurodivergent folks. My goal is to help you reconnect with yourself and find the insight to move through the demands of the outside world.
Perhaps to others you seem successful and fine, but privately
you’re exhausted by anxiety, cultural and family expectations, and relationships that don’t feel fully authentic. If you’re struggling with a harsh inner critic, therapy with me can be a calm, nonjudgmental space where all of your identities are seen, honored, and understood.
I am deeply passionate about exploring the self and helping my clients discover who they are -- all their quirks, values, preferences, and alternative lifestyle choices, especially when they diverge from societal norms.

What brings you here?
Self-Actualization
Self-actualization is the process of realizing your full potential and achieving personal discovery.
I'm curious to explore your inner self and the shadows to work towards your personal growth. Through our sessions, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your values, your ambitions, and personal fulfillment.
Anxiety
Anxiety can be overwhelming, but with the right support, you can develop practices to regain a sense of calm and control in your life. I work with you to understand what drives your anxiety and integrate research-informed trainings to help you build resilience.
Relationships
Healthy relationships are critical for your overall well-being. Whether you're feeling isolated, experiencing conflicts around attachment styles, working on communication or rebuilding trust, I offer the reflective space to address these challenges. You can experience connection without compromising who you are.
Depression
Depression can impact every aspect of your life, but you don't have to face it alone. Together, we can uncover the patterns behind your feelings of resignation, loneliness, and hopelessness and co-create your purpose with a renewed sense of possibility.
Trauma
Healing from trauma is a courageous journey, and I am here to hold compassion to help you process and integrate difficult experiences. We can lay the groundwork for your journey toward healing and post-traumatic growth.
Cultural Assimilation
As a second-generation Asian American, I understand the challenges of navigating between Eastern and Western values.
I help bicultural individuals explore conflicts related to social norms, family expectations, self-expression, language barriers, and acculturation stress. We'll work towards a deeper understanding of your identity, allowing you to feel comfortable in your own skin.
